Why you'll love this recipe
If you're following the keto lifestyle and you have a sweet tooth you're going to want to make a batch of this keto fudge to keep in the refrigerator or freezer.
It's super decadent and just one square will curve any cravings you have for sweets.
The thing that I love most about this low-carb fudge recipe is that it's super simple and you don't need any fancy equipment or a candy thermometer to make it.
This recipe can easily be made using a microwave but if you don't have a microwave you can heat up the butter and keto chocolate chips on the stove.
Key Ingredients
Butter - The butter adds flavor and fat, while creating a smooth and creamy keto fudge.
Sugar Free Chocolate Chips - You can use whichever sugar free chocolate chips you like to make this recipe, but we like Lily's.
Powdered Sweetener - We like to use Lakanto powdered sweetener and Swerve powdered sweetener. It's not recommended to use granulated sweetener, it doesn't work the same way.
Heavy Cream - adds flavor, and fat, while working with the butter to keep this low carb fudge smooth and creamy. Like melt in your mouth creamy.
Vanilla Extract - For a touch of flavor. You can also switch the vanilla out with peppermint extract during the holiday season to make a keto peppermint fudge.
If you have any questions about the ingredients in this recipe, please leave them in the comments below.
Ingredients to try
If you like your keto chocolate fudge a bit on the fancy side you can add the following ingredients as mix-ins. Just note that the total macros including the carbs may change depending on which ingredient you add to your recipe.
¼ cup chopped pecans
¼ cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup chopped macadamia nuts
¼ cup cocoa nibs
2 tablespoons peanut butter for a keto chocolate peanut butter fudge.
2 tablespoons of almond butter
Sugar-free marshmallows. Choc Zero is the best.
Peppermint extract
Almond extract
Sprinkle a pinch of salt on top before placing in the fridge. Larger salt flakes are the best.
The base recipe is amazing as is but sometimes you want something a little extra. Any of the options above are delicious add-ins.
Step by step instructions
- Using a microwave safe bowl. Melt butter and sugar free chocolate chips in the microwave for one minute. If you don't have a microwave, you can melt them together on the stove.
- Stir until all chocolate chips are melted. Heat for an additional 30 seconds if needed.
- Add in powdered sugar-free sweetener, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract.
- Stir until combined. If desired, add your add-ins (listed above) and stir.
- Spoon mixture into a parchment paper lined 4X4 square dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm.
- Remove the parchment paper from the dish and using a sharp knife, cut into 25 squares.
NOTES:
You will need to wait until the fudge is completely solid before cutting it.
You can cut this keto chocolate fudge into smaller or larger pieces depending on your preference. Just make sure to divide the total macros and carbs by the number of pieces you cut.
These numbered steps match the numbered photos above and are for illustration purposes. For the complete list of ingredients and instructions, please see the printable recipe card below.

Storage instructions
This recipe is basically a refrigerator fudge. It melts easily and needs to be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
It can last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
We love to freeze this fudge. We recommend cutting it into pieces before you freeze it, that way you can pull them out one at a time.
Make sure to store, up to 6 months in the freezer, in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. The fudge is very firm, but still delicious frozen.
Best Chocolate Chips to use
When choosing your chocolate chips, always read the nutrition label and check the ingredients. The darker the chocolate the better, always aim for 70% and up.

Explorado Market – Sugar-free Chocolate Chips.
Lakanto Sugar Free Chocolate Bars.
90% dark chocolate, chopped.
We have a recipe for homemade sugar-free chocolate chips. They use similar ingredients and can be used to make keto chocolate fudge.
Any sugar free chocolate sweetened with Stevia and/or Erythritol (both sweeteners are a zero carb sugar sweetener) work in this keto fudge recipe.
Dairy Free Keto Fudge
If you need a dairy-free keto fudge recipe make sure to use dairy-free keto friendly chocolate chips or chocolate and coconut oil.
You can melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips together the same as you would the butter.
You can also use a dairy-free butter. Because this is a refrigerator fudge, it will solidify when you chill it.
Make sure to store in the refrigerator or freezer otherwise it will melt.
Expert Tips
Mix by hand - This recipe is so simple there is no need to use a hand or stand mixer. Using those appliances will add air bubbles to your fudge, changing the consistency.
Parchment paper is a must - If not used, your fudge will be truly stuck to your pan. Save yourself the hassle and line the pan.
Powdered sweetener - We mentioned it earlier but its worth saying again. If you use granulated sweetener your fudge will not be smooth and creamy.
Hot knife - When you go to cut your homemade fudge, run your knife under hot water and it will give beautiful clean slices.
