DELICIOUS GLAZED HAM AND CHEESE ROLLS

These Ham and Cheese Sliders have been a family favorite for years! They are a go-to when I’m not sure what to make for family and friend gatherings. The melted gooey cheese combined with the sliced ham and the delicious glaze that you spread on the bottoms and the top – it is an amazing combination of flavors! I promise that they will be a hit!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can these be made the night before?

Yes they can. Cover with aluminum foil and place I the refrigerator. You will need to add a few minutes to the baking time as you’ll be baking these from cold rather than room temperature.

How do you keep ham and cheese sliders warm for a party?

I would keep the sandwiches covered with aluminum foil, even after baking. As you serve the sliders, just re-cover the baking pan to keep them warm. You could also individually wrap the sliders in aluminum foil then place them into a slow cooker.Keep the slow cooker on warm and let guests help themselves!

Are ham and cheese sliders good cold?

We do enjoy them cold. It you have leftovers you can wrap and place in the refrigerator. You can choose to eat them cold the next day or warm in the microwave.

How do you keep sliders from getting soggy?

These sliders do not come out soggy at all. I would suggest cutting the bottom half of the sliders a bit thicker than the top half. This will give plenty of bread for the sauce to soak into without it becoming soggy.

What goes with ham and cheese sliders?

There’s a lot of different directions you can go here. You can serve them with soup. Or you can serve them with different salads like potato salad or macaroni salad. Cole slaw and baked beans all work well with these. To keep it simple, just serve with a variety of potato chips!

Meanwhile, take rolls out of package and slice through all the rolls (while still attached), cutting them in half horizontally.Brush the glaze mixture onto both sides of the rolls, covering well. The glaze is what takes this over the top, so don’t be stingy.Just leave a little to brush on the tops.

Delicious! I didn’t have dijon mustard, so I used spicy brown mustard instead and they turned out great!! Everyone loved them, even those in the crowd who don’t like mustard. Great recipe!!

  4. Can you make them in advance. Do they travel well

Yes, you can make them in advance. But don’t put the glaze on. Just make the sandwiches as written, cover and place in fridge. When ready to bake, pull out about 20 minutes before putting in oven and then make the glaze and pour over the top. Cover and bake for half the time then uncover and bake for the rest of the time (this will stop the sliders from getting soggy).

  5. Any feedback on how these might do with parker house style rolls? Thanks!

You sure can use rolls such as parker house. They won’t have the sweetness that the Hawaiian Rolls do, but they will still be delicious!

SUCH a crowd pleaser! Saw the recipe back in about 2015 and still I make these all the time with turkey instead of ham. I have not done the raspberry preserves because I’m not a huge fan of raspberry but I imagine a sweet homemade cranberry sauce would be delish. Will have to play around with options.

    1. I think cranberry would be amazing! Thank you so much Leaux!!

  7. Cate, I think she meant if you prefer the shredded cheese, it would take 8 oz. I may be wrong, but what I think.

  8. On the Hawaiian party rolls, you said Monterey Jack “shredded.” I think you meant slices.

  9. Love the recipe except for the raspberry jam , think either peach apricot jam , pineapple ice cream topping would be my choice as a warmed dip.

Holy jeebus! These are baking as I type but I have to tell you, the glaze smelled SO incredible that I *might* have licked the last little bit out of the pan!
