Instructions

To Prep: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat your loaf pan with non-stick baking spray.

To Make the Bread:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together using stand mixer or an electric hand mixer and large bowl.
  2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until just combined.
  3. Add the sour cream and milk and continue mixing until everything is well incorporated.
  4. In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
  5. Gradually pour the flour mixture into the bowl of wet ingredients, mixing as you add.
  6. Stir in the sprinkles by hand using a spatula, then scoop the batter into your prepared pan. If needed, gently spread the bread dough so the top is even.
  7. Bake for 1 hour at 350°F. Check by inserting a toothpick in the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. If there is any batter stuck to the toothpick, bake for 10 more minutes and check again.
  8. When bread is done balking, remove from oven and allow to cool in pan for 5 minutes.
  9. Give the loaf a shake to loosen up the bread loaf, then flip carefully onto a wire rack to finish cooling.

To Make the Glaze:

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Pour slowly over bread to coat the top.
  3. Finish with Christmas sprinkles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does This Bread Need To Be Refrigerated?

I recommend storing this bread in an airtight container at room temperature. You could also wrap in foil, if you haven’t iced the bread yet. It should stay good for up to a week.

If using cream cheese frosting instead of our glaze recipe, you’ll want to keep the bread in the refrigerator.

You can also freeze the bread for long-term storage. You can wrap the entire loaf in plastic wrap and place it inside a gallon size freezer bag for up to 2-3 months.

Can You Make This Recipe Gluten-Free?

Sure! To do so, simply swap out the all purpose flour with an all-purpose gluten free flour blend. You may also want to check the labels on other ingredients used to ensure they’re produced in a facility without cross-contamination, if that is a concern.
