- The Denza Z will feature BYD's e3 technology and the new DiSus-M body control system.
- The Denza Z also features BYD's steer-by-wire technology, which eliminates the mechanical connection of the steering system.

Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), unveiled its first concept sports car, the Denza Z, today on the first day of the Shanghai auto show, showcasing new technologies.
Denza Z adopts the Pure Emotion design concept, realizing the fusion of aerodynamics and functional design so as to serve performance and be built for the track, Denza said.
The concept sports car will feature the industry's first NEV-exclusive DiSus-M body control system, the first time the system has been mentioned.

DiSus is a body control system announced by BYD on April 10, 2023, when three branches were announced -- DiSus-C, DiSus-A and DiSus-P. On March 27, Yangwang officially launched the U7, a sedan equipped with DiSus-Z.
DiSus- M draws on the magnetorheological principle to allow the suspension system to be freely adjustable, according to Danza.

Compared with conventional dampers, DiSus-M has two-way stepless adjustment of rebound and compression damping, with a damping force build-up time of less than 10ms, and offers the advantages of fast response, wide range and low noise, it said.
The body control system can be integrated with the road pre-scan system to deliver a more comfortable experience in a wide range of road conditions, Denza said.
The Denza Z comes with BYD's own steer-by-wire technology, which eliminates the mechanical connection of the steering system, according to the brand.
Based on the steer-by-wire technology, the Denza Z has a folding steering wheel that eliminates the risks of a conventional steering column intruding into the cockpit, it said.
The Denza Z will also be the first sports car to feature BYD's e3 technology, according to Denza.

The e3 technology can be seen as a scaled-down version of BYD's e4 technology built for ultra-luxury cars, bringing tri-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels.
The Z9, Z9GT and N9, which are already on sale, are equipped with e3 technology.
The Denza Z concept further completes Denza's product matrix, meaning the brand is bringing technologies and luxury to the sports car market, it said.
